                      Elvis Presley Inspired my musical journey in many ways. Like most every boy I think, I went through  an I -want -to- be- like- Elvis- Presley phase. It mainly started when my dad brought me home an Elvis record after he went on a business trip to Memphis. He had visited Graceland with some of his office friends and picked it up at the gift shop . A funny story goes that while touring the mansion, my dad and the other businessmen asked the cab diver to wait for them outside, and then asked the cab driver "will you remember us?" And he politely said "sure, you'll be the only guys in there with suits on". I remember kind of really being taken in by Elvis and his style. He was the epitome of cool . He wasn't like the Beatles. Howdy Everyone! I will be livestreaming again shortly. I am getting some new computer equipment to make things easier, and I will resume livestreaming Sunday, June 10th! From then on, I will do regular livestreams every other Sunday at 8 P.M. EST. I will try to make them fun and entertaining and engaging. Please spread the word. Hi everyone! I am happy to announce that I will livestream on my vlog channel. Since the venues won't have me, forget them! All I need is a webcam , my voice and a few instruments, and voila! I can have plenty of viewers on my livestream. I will be doing my coffee shop country show this Sunday 8 P.M. EST . Feel free to tune in! My livestream will be on my youtube channel . Monument Floyd. Why bother with some lowly coffee shop or run down rate music venue? My back bedroom beats 'em all ! If you miss the livestream, fear not. It will be publicly archived for playback. I am very happy to be using this wonderful medium. 

Last weekend, I performed at "Friends For Recovery"- a local network to get people off opioid addiction. I think they liked all the songs I did, but the real crowd pleaser was "Clean Livin;"- a song I wrote about staying away from all of life's negative influences. They really dug that one. I got some film of it live too which will be posted later. I think maybe this can be the theme song for recovering junkies everywhere!

Very excited to announce that I will be doing live streaming on my vlog channel account. A little bit of music, a little bit of talk, and hopefully a good time for all! I probably will broadcast on Sunday nights. Before all this starts, I have to do some upgrades to my computer equipment (including a better lap top!) camera, etc. I have decent Internet connection, but I'm still not sure how that will go, since my wifi can get weak in my back studio bedroom. Since I don't feel well enough  to travel out as much, might as well do a show from home! I will have to test the waters and see how this all goes. I have wanted to livestream for quite a while now, but I have always been apprehensive. It seems to be easier if I had a tech person to run everything for me while I was just the host/performer. But until I get that to happen, I will be running things. I can't decide what format either. I can use streamlab, google, or simply  stream through youtube. They will be coming alon...

I really miss playing Farmer's Markets.  In my earlier performing days, and when I was in better health, I was able to get up early enough  and drive to a farmer's market  I had booked some place  (even though not a "morning person"), and  the experience was usually very refreshing.  There's definitely an illustrious  beauty of the morning, and those earlier hours of the day,  that you do miss  over time when you simply can't get up for it.   I used to play the Farmer's Market circuit right often, and I would either get invited by word of mouth, or find some interesting ones via the Internet.  I  would scope them out within a 2 hour radius. I remember playing at different markets around Richmond, but also little country towns around Central Virginia.
